Creating Custom Fields

Custom Fields can be created to further track or define your news coverage or activities. An example of a Custom Field is a read field for news coverage enabling you to quickly track which clips you have already reviewed. Follow the directions below to create a Custom Field to use in your news coverage or activities.
Creating a Custom Field
- Click the Person icon in the upper right corner and select Settings
- Click on Custom Fields
Click Create New Custom Field
- Select whether the Custom Field will pertain to News or Activities
Complete the form to create your new Custom Field:
- Give the Custom Field a title.
- Select the type of information that you will be putting in the field: Text, Memo, Number, Yes/No, Date, Single-Select or Multi-Select.
- The next field will differ based on what Type of field you selected to define. If the field should have a default value, you will enter it here. If the field is Multi-Select, you will have the opportunity to enter multiple values.
- If the field is a Text field, you can define a character maximum limit for the field. The default maximum is 255 characters but this can be lowered to meet your needs.
- Click Save.
Using Custom News Fields
- Once you create a News Custom Field, you will see it in the profile for the news clip.
- To change to value for the custom field, click the pencil
- A menu will appear enabling you to select the value for the custom field.
Using Custom Activity Fields
- Any Activity Custom Fields will appear on the form used to log an activity.
- Values for the Custom Field will show on the form so that you can make the appropriate choice.
