Editorial Calendars Overview

Editorial Calendars will help you locate upcoming features based on the editorial calendars of Outlets in our system. To find these editorial calendars, follow these steps:

1. Click Campaigns

2. Click Editorial Calendars

In the Editorial Calendar Opportunities Search Screen:

1. Click the upside-down triangle to see the criteria you can search.

2. Select the first criteria you want to use

3. Enter the information the search will use. 
NOTE: When searching by Keyword, use quotations to enclose phrases with more than one word. 
Also, Boolean terms of OR, AND, AND NOT may be included. These terms must be capitalised when used.

4. Select the Plus Sign button to add more criteria to your search and repeat the process until your search is as specific as you desire.

5. Once you have criteria in place, click Search.

Viewing  & Pitching Opportunities using Profile View:

Opportunities that match the criteria you select will display using the default Profile View. In this view, when you click an individual Opportunity in the left pane, you will see its details in the right pane.  Most importantly, you’ll see the Media Contact in charge of the Opportunity.

1. The email address that you should use to pitch the Opportunity. When you click the email address, your default email system will open with this email address re-populated in the “To” line. You can then enter or paste your pitch in the body.

2. If the Media Contact for the Opportunity is part of the Cision database, you can click on the Media Contact name to further explore their pitching preferences.

3. If the Media Outlet is part of the Cision database, you can click on the Media Outlet name to conduct further research about it.

4. You can also access the Media Contact and Media Outlet records associated with the Opportunity by clicking the View Contact and/or View Outlet buttons.

5. Check any Opportunities that you wish to include in an Export which is an Excel file.
6. Click the Download button to create an Excel file of selected Opportunities.
7. Click Edit Search if you need to modify your search criteria.

Viewing Opportunities using the Grid View:

You have an alternative option called Grid View that will display the detail for all Opportunities that meet your search criteria in columns. This view can be accessed by clicking on the Three Lines button in the upper right-hand corner.

You can customise the columns of this view in a variety of ways.

1. Click the Gear icon to see the columns of information displayed in this view and make changes to them.

2. Uncheck any data that you do not want to be displayed.

3. Click Save to preserve your preferences.

4. Drag and drop columns to change the order in which they appear.

5. Any information, such as Media Outlet, that appears as a link may be clicked to see additional details, such as the full Media Contact or Outlet record. These records may include additional pitching preferences that you may want to consider prior to pitching the Opportunity.

6. Check any Opportunities that you wish to include in an Export which is an Excel file.

7. Click the Export button to create an Excel file of selected Opportunities.

8. Click Edit Search if you need to modify your search criteria.
