Outlet Conversions

Modified on: Wed, 7 Dec, 2022 at 10:28 PM

The Outlet Conversions tab will show all the Outlets that have contributed referrals to your tracking website through Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics. However, in order to see this data, you will need to connect your Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics account in the Settings area of the platform. Click here to learn more about Connecting your Google or Adobe Analytics accounts. The data that is described on the Outlet Conversion page will be different depending on if you are looking at Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics data.  If you have both an Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics account connected to your Cision Communications Cloud, you will see the options to toggle between Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics data on the Outlet Conversions page. Below you will see a break down of data and definitions for each platform.

1. Click Insights

2. Click Outlet Conversions

This will show a list of outlets that have driven traffic to your website during the past 30 days.  Notice that you can view the data and/or download the data presented on this page.  Downloading the data is described in a subsequent section of this page. It is important to note that this data will only show referring outlets that are part of the Cision Communications Cloud database.

Listed below are definitions of each column you will find with Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics

Google Analytics Fields:

  • Outlet Name: The websites from Cision’s media database that are sending traffic to your website
  • Referrals: Traffic for which a referrer – page that contains a link to your website – was identified, and the referrer is not a search engine.
  • Goal Completions: Goals measure how well a site or app fulfills target objectives. A goal represents a completed activity, called a conversion, that contributes to the success of your business.
  • Revenue:  Measurement of the number of transactions and revenue that your website generates. This will show where users click on purchase buttons and pull transaction details for hard ROI on receipts of purchase.
  • Page Views: Recorded every time a page is viewed:  When a visitor hits the back button, hits refresh, every time a page is opened in the browser, regardless of whether it has been cached.
  • Average Session (seconds): How long were users on the website page? Do they immediately bounce to another page or linger on the homepage?
  • Bounces: A visit with a one-page view. It doesn’t matter how long the visitor was on the page or how they left.

New Users: A visitor who did not have Google Analytics cookies when they hit the first page in this visit. New Users also include non-interaction events.

Adobe Analytics Fields:

  • Outlet Name: The websites from Cision’s media database that are sending traffic to your website
  • Referrals: Traffic for which a referrer – page that contains a link to your website – was identified, and the referrer is not a search engine.
  • Revenue: Measurement of the number of transactions and revenue that your website generates. This will show where users click on purchase buttons and pull transaction details for hard ROI on receipts of purchase.
  • Average Seconds on Page: How long were users on the website page? Do they immediately bounce to another page or linger on the homepage?
  • Checkouts: When customers arrive at the checkout stage of a purchase, usually just before a purchase is finalised (when they add personal info for billing). Adobe Analytics user controls what qualifies as checkout.
  • Orders: The number of orders made on the website during a selected time period. Break down individual time periods by other metrics to show the items (such as products or campaigns) that contributed to the most orders during that time frame.

Downloading Outlet Conversion Data as a Report:

To download a report of referrals and related data to your tracked site for the past 30 days, follow the steps below.  If you have both Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics accounts connected to your Cision Communications Cloud, you will want select which data set you want to download.  If you have both accounts connected, you will see the option to select a specific set of data (Google or Adobe) in this upper right hand corner.
