Create a Cision Social Listening Saved Search

Social Listening Quick Searches, Guided Quick Searches and Advanced Searches can be saved to provide you with future access to the search results without having to recreate the initial search string. Saving a search also provides 12 months of historical data. NOTE: The number of available saved searches is based on the package included with your account.

To Create a Saved Search using the Quick Search Feature:

1. Click on the Social Listening tab.

2. In the Search Bar on the Quick Search homepage, type in the name of a brand, hashtag, handle, or topic, then press the Enter key on your keyboard.

3. This will open up the Quick Search tab on the Analyse page. 

4. On the Analyse Dashboards page, a search bar showing the current search is available for easy access at the top so that you will not have to return to the Quick Search homepage to modify the existing search or to start a new search.

5. Make any adjustments to your created search, then click on the Save Search button. 

NOTE: Quick Search queries have a maximum character limit of 600 characters, so you will need to save your search if it exceeds the 600-character limit.

6. Enter a name for the Saved Search.

7. Select the teams that you want access to the saved search.

8. Type in an optional description for your saved search.

9. Click on the Save button.

10. Your Saved Search will be available to use again on the Recently Saved Searches area on the Quick Search homepage and in the Saved Searches tab of the Analyse Dashboards page.

To Create a Saved Search using the Guided Quick Search Feature:

1. Click on the Social Listening tab.

2. From the Quick Search homepage, click on one of the suggestions below the search bar to open the Guided Search Mode.

3. Fill in the prompts to create a more effective search without typing in Boolean syntax. NOTE: If you prefer typing in the Boolean syntax, you may enter it in the Quick Search box to create an Advanced Search, which is explained below.

4. As you fill in the prompts, Social Listening will display the Boolean syntax string at the top of the form. 

5. After filling in the search terms you want to Include and Exclude, click on the Search button.

6. This will open up the Quick Search tab on the Analyse page. 

7. Make any adjustments to the search you created, select a time frame and time zone for your search, and then click the Save Search button. 

NOTE: Quick Search queries have a maximum character limit of 600 characters, so you will need to save your search if it exceeds the 600-character limit.

8 Enter a name for the Saved Search.

9. Select the teams that you want access to the saved search.

10. Type in an optional description for your saved search.

11. Click on the Save button.

Your Saved Search will be available to use again on the: 
1. Recently Saved Searches area on the Quick Search homepage and also available in the 
2. Saved Searches tab of the Analyse Dashboards page.

To Create a Saved Search using the Advanced Quick Search Feature:

1. Click on the Social Listening tab.

2. On the Quick Search homepage, begin typing in the Boolean Syntax for your search.

As you fill in your query, Cision Social Listening will include syntax highlighting, recognize errors and provide suggested operators and examples to assist in your search creation. 

3. Click on the Advanced search help button for a list of Boolean operators you can use and examples.

4. After typing in your Boolean search, press the Enter key on your keyboard.

5. This will open up the Quick Search tab on the Analyse page. 

6. Make any adjustments to the search you have created.

8. Click on the Save Search button.

9. Enter a name for the Saved Search.
